In a far off world
not all that unlike our own, three races of dinosaurs ruled and warred.
They had existed for centuries, yet were always fighting among themselves,
spreading evil throughout the land.
The Theropods were
the strongest of the three; they were a race of fierce, carnivorous beasts
who sought nothing but personal glory and the blood of others. They were
ruled by the almighty Arlach, who is rumored to be a descendant of Chaos
itself. Arlach was the most feared dinosaur to ever walk the face of the
Earth, as he not only possessed incredible strength, but a dark and twisted
magic as well. It is the magic that the others feared. Using this formidable
tool, Arlach could create and brainwash hordes of evil minions, who then
obeyed his every command. No one understood where the magic came from,
nor how Arlach had tamed it, they simply knew that it existed, and that
was a problem in itself.
The second race
of dinosaurs was the Sauropods. They were the largest of the three, and
had long necks and towering limbs that shook the ground as they walked.
Surprisingly, they did not bring pestilence and terror to the world as
their chaotic neighbors did, as they were much more family minded and concerned
about one another. Individuals of one family would always remain with their
relatives, and different families were often scattered at great distances
about the land. There was some talk between families, and some families
were larger than others. However, the Sauropods were not very numerous,
and since groups of them were generally isolated, they were quite vulnerable.
The last of the
three races was the Ornithiscians. It is rather difficult to make a generalization
about the stature of these dinosaurs, as they come in many shapes and sizes.
The Ornithiscians were the most community minded, and were the only group
to establish cities and settlements of their own. Most of the members of
this race lived in the various established communities, where they functioned
together and shared resources. They were peaceful, and groups of Sauropods
who happened to live near these settlements would often join them for festivals,
and help them out in times of need.
This was the situation
when the Arlach movement began. Any one group usually didn't know what
the other races were up to, and this is why the results were as devastating
as they were. Unknown to the other two, Arlach had begun amassing minions
to form a great army, with the intent of eliminating all of those who did
not join his cause. It is with this plan that he hoped to rule the world.
