Legend of FireAran, Sixth Seeker of Redemption

The life and trials of FireAran is a long and shifting one. Born upon the lands of Dominia, where he would grow to be hated, he was soon banished to the more accepting continent of Terra. Not knowing of whom his parents were, he sought nothing more but to reveal their identities. Upon his travels, he met with the great Silverfire, who offered his services and took the young FireAran in as a guest of Seeker. There, FireAran learned the value of helping others, and began his life as the Seeker of Knowledge.

Several years passed, and FireAran had finally reached the rank of Journeyman, which greatly excited him. Not only did he maintain his search for his parents, but also sought the new goal of attaining the great rank of Master. Surely, Seeker would be his life forever…Or at least he thought so at that age.

Luck did have it, of course, that under the leadership of Master Silverfire, FireAran himself finally became a respected Master of Seeker. Following directly in his previous Master’s footsteps, FireAran, too, joined the House of Light, and continued to dedicate his life to serving others. Now and old Dragon, and a greatly respected resident of Redemption, he found it time for his rebirth. After searching hundreds of years for his parents, he found nothing, and thought the best way to continue was in another life…

Upon his second seventeenth birthday, he received a gift from his old Master, Silverfire. “This belonged to you mother,” he exclaimed. “Surely she would have wanted you to have it,” he also remarked, as he walked out of the Holy Font without another word. Excited about the new revolution, the newly young FireAran wore the locket around his neck.

As time went on, Silverfire began to die, and finally passed completely away. The shocking truth was revealed, however, as Silverfire’s last words were to FireAran, “My wife, Redlingflame, and myself…We are your parents…” But it was too late. Silverfire had passed away without another word, and left only memories and the other half of the family locket. Wearing both together, FireAran ran to the Holy Font to find his mother, only to find that she had taken her life at the loss of her husband. Resisting the urge to burst out in tears, FireAran turned around to find Poko Ono, Grand Master of Seeker looking upon him. “This is sad moment for you I’m sure,” he said, “but Seeker is in need of a new Recruiter and Master of the House of Light. I have convened with the rest of the Masters, and they have voted on you being that new person.” FireAran thought to himself and how the best way to remember his father was to take over his position as Recruiter, and accepted.

In due time, Poko, too began to grow old. After much thought, the Grand Master decided to elect FireAran or Wotan the new Leader of the great clan, Seeker. After many days and weeks of decision, Poko, with the withdrawing of Wotan, decided to make FireAran the new and Sixth Seeker of Redemption. Having nothing more to seek, FireAran became the sole leader of Seeker, and dedicated his life to making the clan grow to new horizons. He and his council, along with his most beloved Masters Leucaruth and Cardinal, did in fact change the clan in many ways, and all was well until one day.

Daisy, the highest Immortal of Redemption came to FireAran one day and offered him an entity of immortality. The thought excited FireAran, and he gladly accepted. The problem, however, was that he would be split in personality, and that he would also lose the rights to hold Leadership of Seeker. Weighing his options, he chose Leucaruth to take over his rule, and Daisy began the procedure of creating an entity of immortality.

Unfortunately, when Tsongas, FireAran’s entity, was created, all the good of FireAran was withdrawn, making him slowly become evil. This did not go over very well being in a peaceful clan, and FireAran’s hate began to grow more and more everyday. Resisting every urge to want to kill those in Seeker, he left the clan, never to come back. Soon an onslaught of people began to emerge by the hands of the once peaceful FireAran, and he joined the ranks of Kindred. Many years had passed, and Leucaruth, too had been offered immortality, making Cardinal the new Leader of Seeker. And still, FireAran remained in Kindred, killing others for bloodlust. That was, until, the one day he attacked Cardinal on his way back to the fortress that was Seeker Hall. The battle was great, and other Masters had joined in the battle, all who had to retreat from the pure hatred emerging from FireAran. In the final moments, Cardinal’s lost his strength and his sword went flying across the battlefield.  The sword, which had been passed down from Bhaal, CrossBones, Max, Ying, Poko, FireAran, and Leucaruth, once again was wielded by FireAran. As FireAran stood there, with the great sword of Bhaal, he looked into Cardinal’s eyes. There he expected to see fear, but none was present. “Do you accept your death, Cardinal?” FireAran questioned. Cardinal simply replied, “my life is to serve Seeker, do what you must.” FireAran winced at the comment, and drove the sword into the ground near Cardinal’s head, and began to walk away. “Once a Seeker always a Seeker…” FireAran began to mutter to himself as he reluctantly began to remove his blood stained armor and dropped it in the regeneration room of Kindred Hall. Without another word, he once again walked away without looking back, and joined Seeker once more.

Within months of his reacceptance, FireAran became a Master once more. Upon the changes of some rules, FireAran also became the newly founded Quest Master, which would hopefully prove to be a prominent rank with the abolishment of the previous Houses. It is undetermined what goes through Master FireAran’s head, but he is sure of one thing…He will always be loyal to Seeker, and all it has to offer to him.
